Overview

This was a hugely exciting project for e-innovate as it involved a full suite of services – software, app and website design and development. Get Active is a great initiative to get workforces healthy and moving as well as a good way to form camaraderie and teamwork in the office.

Whether it’s riding your bike, doing some yoga, working out at the gym or using headspace apps, the Get Active app supports 40+ activities across physical, social and mindfulness categories.

Proof of concept was important, so when the pandemic arrived and lockdown happened we took the opportunity to start the project – and built phase one within two weeks. We used lockdown exercise and friendly competition as a motivator to get over 1,400 participants signed up and raised over £14,000 for East Surrey hospital.

As lockdown eased, Get Active was used as a platform by corporate businesses to maintain staff engagement and encourage healthy habits when offices were closed and employees were working remotely. The company completed charities for companies like Google, and even managed to get a Joe Wicks endorsed video to promote the challenge within the business.

Charities also utilised the platform to raise vital funds from their supporters by engaging with them remotely through the platform, due to live events being cancelled due to the pandemic. These organisations included The Children’s Trust, Blue Light Card, Police Care UK, The Firefighters Charity, Sash Charity and more.
